If you look very, very closely, you can catch a subtle hint as to what element the Orange Spell uses.

Oh yes, go ahead and approach her while she's seething mad and covered with fire. I'm sure that'll go over wonderfully.

But what is the Orange Spell!? I must know! Also, great looking first panel.

@Hjels: All will be revealed in due time. I think it's safe to say, though, that it is not an ice-based spell.

And thanks, it was fun attempting to make a panel full of pretty, soft pastel hues somehow threatening and dramatic.

Ah, she's a troubled prodigy.

Reply melaredblu, July 18th, 2013, 2:43 pm

@vaslittlecrow: Prodigy? Huh. I never intended to give her that characteristic, but I can see how she comes across as such here. Dang it, I need to be extra-careful now or else she'll end up being a Mary Sue.

Reply vaslittlecrow, July 18th, 2013, 3:26 pm

@melaredblu: I don't know about Mary Sue, but she's definitely on the right track for an Enfant Terrible trope if she does end up being a prodigy.

Reply Hjels, July 19th, 2013, 5:05 am

She's a bit too fond of violent TV-shows and hurling bunnies into walls to be a Mary Sue, isn't she? :P

Reply melaredblu, July 19th, 2013, 12:36 pm

@Hjels: Not necessarily. A lot of Mary Sues have glaring character flaws, whether intentional or not. I just have to take care not to make June overpowered to the point of being boring. Stuff like that tends to sneak up on me if I don't watch it.

Really like the fire effect you got going on.

@JustNoPoint: Well, thanks! The fire was pretty fun to do, actually.
