A plumber saving the princess? Preposterous.

Fun fact: there was going to be a joke that Princess Chroma the First doesn't realize Leopold's a guy, poking fun at the ridiculous overly-feminine guys in shoujo anime. I ended up dropping it, though, because that joke is kind of played out. Also, I think he actually looks masculine enough here that anyone can tell he's clearly a guy. So there.

The Royal Plumber?! You are absolutely brilliant.
To set us up for the noble, handsome, rich, princely Leopold, and then make him the plumber is pure awesome. I love the romantic backlighting in panel two. Is that a screw ball symbol on his cap? He takes a rolling pin well, too.

@groovykinda: You have no idea the amount of maniacal laughter your previous comments about Leopold incited. I was looking forward to your reaction to this page big time.
And yes, this is something I planned all along. I've always pictured him being a blue-collar worker at heart.

Well played, Ms. melaredblu, well played indeed.
"Good job, er, Leopold."
"Tank you, your highness. When I heard your scream I plunged into battle, knowing it was sink or swim. Flushing out the enemy, I unclogged his wicked scheme, and now his evil plans are naught but a pipe dream."
In other news-word balloon tangent.

@groovykinda: Hmm, I suppose you mean in panel 4? I agree. I was trying to give the impression of him half-interrupting her question in answering it, but...yeah. It didn't turn out so good.

Any suggestions on interrupting dialog bubbles for future pages? You seem to have the lettering thing down pretty well.

@melaredblu: I think he means the tangent between the second and third bubble. The interruption effect between the first and second is good. Just lower the third one, and you're golden. Or am I missing something, Charlie?

This page is all about Leopold's smirk on the second panel for me. So good to see him actually on top of something. :)

That's exactly what I meant. The interruption balloon is great. It's the tangent with the 2nd and 3rd. I realize the space is tight.
Now that I look at it, there's a tangent with the first balloon and the border.
If I may make a suggestion, I'd move the first balloon up a bit and open the top. Then move the second balloon up (keeping the interruption just the same). Then, with the extra space under, I'd break her balloon up into two: "Oh, um..." "Th-thank you." You might even want to break Leopold's lines into two to give more punch to the "The royal plumber" line. It might get crowded, but you have a lot of space in that upper right corner.

@groovykinda: Stuff like this is the reason I need to get in a better habit of keeping my lettering on a separate layer. Oh well, I'll keep an eye out for this next time. Thank you!

@Hjels: I have to agree, actually. It was kind of nice to give him a little bit of a win. But how long will it last? You'll just have to wait and see...

I gotta say, Leopold is pretty good looking here.

He does look quite bishounen with the sunlight being cast over him. LOL

"Royal plumber"?! Well... someone's gotta do it!
