On the plus side, those feathers would make awesome pillow stuffing.

Feathers everywhere. I had to do something to make up for the lack of background. Stark, pitch-black voids don't give me much to work with.

Wow @melaredblu: That last panel is really nice. I love the red, black, and white.
It took me a while to figure out what was what in the panels before. Is the white globe part of the li'l demon's head? And what's the black stripe on it in panel 3?

Reply melaredblu, September 25th, 2013, 4:31 pm

I'm...not sure. What white globe are you seeing and where's the black stripe? Oh dear, I really need to work on my composition.

if he keeps molting like that he won't have any feathers left

Panels 3 & 4. It looks like the white circle with the black rectangle is part of the little demon's head.
See how in panel four it looks like he has a glowing globe instead of hair? Then, in three it looks like two wings, a neck, and the globe is the back view of his head.

Digging Mike Mignola vibe I'm getting from this page. There's some real, delicious menace here.

Reply melaredblu, September 26th, 2013, 10:32 am

@GroovyKinda: Ah, I see it now. That's supposed to be his hair, but I guess I went too simplistic with it. Next time this character appears, I'll try to make it more detailed. As always, I really appreciate your honesty.

Reply melaredblu, September 26th, 2013, 10:33 am

@Hjels: Thanks! I wanted this page to feel nice and sinister.

Reply melaredblu, September 26th, 2013, 10:45 am

@schlissel: Haha, probably! I went a little overboard with the feathers, I guess.

Reply GroovyKinda, September 28th, 2013, 4:50 pm

Personally, I would've added more feathers.
I like how Leopold's still holding his magic plunger. Nice detail.
And I second Hjels on the Mike Mignola vibe on that last panel. I don't know about nice, but it sure feels sinister and threatening.

@GroovyKinda: Note to self: add Mike Mignola to my list of people to research. Sounds like this guy might be a good source to learn from.

I have a request. I love the comic, but my eyesight is degrading (Age I suppose), and I need greater contrast to see clearly. I agree that the last panel is sinister and moody, and I like it, but all I can see are the Princess' glasses and a few faint outlines. Ideas, anyone?

Reply GroovyKinda, October 2nd, 2013, 11:29 am

I have the same issues. If I need a larger picture, I just hold down the Ctrl key and press the "+" sign to make the strip bigger. The Ctrl key and the mouse wheel do the same thing.

@Delta-v: Apologies for the long wait! I have uploaded a higher contrast version of the picture so hopefully you'll be able to see it better. I'm glad you enjoy the comic and please, do feel free to let me know if the images are hard to see. I don't normally go back and redo pages, but if visibility is an issue, I will certainly make changes to fix that!

Wow,! @melaredblu: Wow! I'm honored and a bit stunned that you went to all that trouble just for me. Now I can see all the details clearly. I hope the changes didn't spoil the sinister mood for everyone else, but I for one am grateful. Thank you so very much. :)

Reply melaredblu, October 5th, 2013, 5:25 pm

@Delta-vd: You're welcome! I'm glad you can see the picture clearly now. I'll try to be more careful about the contrast next time, but if you run into visibility issues again in the future, don't be afraid to say so.
