This is nothing. You ought to see the Christmas trees in Elysium.

What, no snappy comeback, June?

yes... touch the pretty tree xD

Nice page. At first I was confused-was June creating the tree? Then I re-read "Cut Bunny Tree," and figured it out.
But, if the Bunny Tree is making the barrier, what did Cordelia do?

Reply melaredblu, October 23rd, 2013, 4:04 pm

@schlissel: I was tempted to make it iridescent, but only June's powers are supposed to make things colorful. Darn that pesky context consistency.

Reply melaredblu, October 23rd, 2013, 4:05 pm

@GroovyKinda: Ah, another good question. And the answer is...well, you'll find out in a few pages.

Reply GroovyKinda, October 23rd, 2013, 4:11 pm

If that is a "Cute Bunny Tree," does that mean that Leopold made it? And now June is taking his work and making it even greater?
Wouldn't that make her a...plumber's helper?

Reply melaredblu, October 23rd, 2013, 11:11 pm

@GroovyKinda: There's no reply I can make at this point that wouldn't spoil the story. You'll all see what's up soon enough.

Reply Delta-v, October 24th, 2013, 12:11 pm

@melaredblu: Um, I think that was a joke, not a real question, and the desired response was "Lol" or "Rofl".

GroovyKinda and I share a slightly skewed approach to reality. He uses his awesome ability to entertain thousands of people. I'm just an irritation.

Reply melaredblu, October 24th, 2013, 5:03 pm

@Delta-v: Yeah, you're probably right about that being a joke and I was just a bit dense and missed that. I have a strict anti-lol policy, though. Unless, I'm being ironic, lol.
You're not an irritation. I appreciate you.

Reply Delta-v, October 24th, 2013, 8:09 pm

@melaredblu: It helps if you know that a "plumber's helper" is a toilet plunger. :)

(Er, what's your policy on emoticons?)

Reply melaredblu, October 24th, 2013, 11:20 pm

@Delta-v: I didn't know that! That's really funny, though. I'll have to remember that one!

You can lol and emotion as much as you like. I just couldn't get into it myself, so I tend not to do it.

I like the almost manic look the shadows give June in the first panel. And Spiders' body language helps to build the tension. This page benefits alot from the limited dialogue.

Reply GroovyKinda, October 25th, 2013, 2:29 pm

Sill. You're not an irritation-you just haven't been discovered yet.
Hey, is that a tangent I spy in panel 5? You might want to shift the tree branch a touch to the left, so it looks like June is under it.
And I love Leopold in panel 7. He's almost dog-like, looking up at her. Nice body language.

Reply melaredblu, October 25th, 2013, 11:57 pm

@Hjels: That's good to hear! I wanted this page to be tense.

Reply melaredblu, October 25th, 2013, 11:57 pm

@GroovyKinda: Those darn tangents! Well, nothing a little nudge to the side can't fix. Thanks for the heads-up.

Reply Delta-v, October 26th, 2013, 11:49 am

I read Leopold as radiating guilt and remorse, since he caused all or most of this mess by siccing Cordelia on June. The end result may be positive--June becoming an ex-brat--but the rest of it has to be appalling to him.

Reply melaredblu, October 28th, 2013, 5:12 pm

@Delta-v: If you're referring to last chapter, technically Cordelia never did anything to June. That was all Randall's doing. Still, being MIA during the Octonana fight and letting June get out of control is plenty for him to feel guilty about.

Reply Delta-v, October 28th, 2013, 6:15 pm

@melaredblu: Urk! Of course you are right. At that point, I was still catching up after a late start and crossed a couple of plotlines--I usually do a better job of keeping things straight than that.

It's still a guilty-face-look, however, because it's the same one I use when I do something stupid. Like now.

Reply melaredblu, October 28th, 2013, 7:10 pm

@Delta-v: It's okay, I had intentionally set it up so it would initially seem like Cordelia was the culprit. Either way, you're right about the guilty expression and I still really appreciate your input.

I love the tree.
