What, you were expecting a broomstick? Well, shame on you. What are we, living in the Stone Age? Feh.

I was thinking of having some goofy symbols in her magical rune circle as a bonus gag, but...yeah. I think this page is silly enough as it is.

It's a Hoovercraft! "Stupid Sonny and his stupid cork?" I'm missing something.
A giant vacuum cleaner. You are nuts, Ms melaredblu. In a very good way.
And Cordelia continues to be my favorite character. I love how much better you've gotten with her face, especially in panel 1. And the overhead view in 4 is very tricky to pull off well, and you nailed it. Great body language.

@GroovyKinda: Remember when Cordelia turned her umbrella into a cannon and Sonny blew it up using a Looney Tunes cork? That was her wand he blew up and that may have left some lasting damage.

And another girl with magic watches her attempt go awry. Perhaps there's some force around that likes messing with anything that hints at girls and magic...

Reply GroovyKinda, January 8th, 2014, 4:04 pm

@Delta-v: I don't think it's gender specific. It's more a Cordelia thing.

Reply schlissel, January 8th, 2014, 6:59 pm

a wand that summons a vacuum, very magical indeed

Reply melaredblu, January 8th, 2014, 7:53 pm

@Delta-v: It's almost as though the force that drives their existence has a sadistic sense of humor or something.

Reply melaredblu, January 8th, 2014, 7:54 pm

@schlissel: Brooms are old hat. Cordelia travels in style.

Reply Delta-v, January 8th, 2014, 10:08 pm

@melaredblu: No, no, not sadistic! Puckish. The results are just as embarrassing, but in a much nicer way.

Reply Hjels, January 9th, 2014, 5:24 pm

@GroovyKinda: Yeah, Cordelia is my favourite character by far. She had such a great and frank conversation with Spiders outside that classroom, that made her so fascinating. She's the Princess Chroma of our hearts. :)

Reply melaredblu, January 9th, 2014, 8:00 pm

@Hjels: I wonder if it should worry me that the two most popular characters seem to be the ones with the most reason to hate the protagonist. Oh well, I'm glad Cordelia has been such a hit. Being that this is a magical girl parody, Cordelia was made to spoof the Cute Witch archetype, so while she's not the main character, she's still pretty important.

Reply melaredblu, January 9th, 2014, 8:00 pm

@Delta-v: Oh very well, puckish it is. So long as the characters continue to suffer as a result.

Reply GroovyKinda, January 10th, 2014, 6:06 pm

@Hjels: Agreed. And I love how her face has developed as melaredblu's gotten so much better.
Speaking of faces, have you noticed that we haven't seen June's face since 5-20?

Reply Hjels, January 10th, 2014, 8:18 pm

@GroovyKinda: Huh... I completely missed that. But you're right. Every time she's in frame, we see her from the back.

Reply Guest, January 11th, 2014, 4:27 pm

@melaredblu: A quick glance at synonyms for puckish, brings up: mischievous, naughty, impish, roguish, playful, arch, prankish.
I'd say that's pretty much a perfect description.

Reply melaredblu, January 12th, 2014, 8:42 pm

@Guest: As long as the audience is getting a kick out of it, I'll be happy to call it puckish. Unless somebody gets hungry. Then it'll be peckish.

Reply GroovyKinda, January 12th, 2014, 9:16 pm

@melaredblu: "Ah, what food these morsels be!" Puck (paraphrased): A Midsummer's Night's Dream
P.S. the Guest was me. I was posting from a my computer at the library.

Reply Delta-v, January 12th, 2014, 10:01 pm

I'm off the hook! @GroovyKinda: Oh, THANK you for confessing! I was afraid that she thought it was me being devious.

Reply melaredblu, January 13th, 2014, 2:47 am

@GroovyKinda: Heh, now I want to read Midsummer's Night Dream again.

Reply melaredblu, January 13th, 2014, 2:54 am

@Delta-v: You really don't need to worry about me suspecting you of anything. Honestly, I'm just incredibly happy to get any comments at all no matter who they're from. For the first couple years, I barely got any feedback aside from some comments from a friend who had already seen the comic in person before I posted it.

Reply GroovyKinda, January 13th, 2014, 3:08 pm

@melaredblu: And now look at you! Comments all down the page! Just keep making your wonderful comic, and the commenters will gather like bees to a flower bed.
Delta-v and Guest could be the same person. Have you ever seen them photographed together?

Reply melaredblu, January 14th, 2014, 2:14 pm

@GroovyKinda: I've seen them photographed with Superman, but never with Clark Kent.

Reply Delta-v, January 14th, 2014, 9:08 pm

@melaredblu: That WAS Clark. We photoshopped the picture as a joke.

I'm of two minds about sneaking goofy symbols into Cordelia's magic conjurations. On the one hand, it would be funny and would fit very nicely into the overall theme, but on the other, It would be more work at a time when you are pouring so much effort into the comic already. Giving us tidbits like that is like giving a dog bacon strips. If you stop, you have to put up with pleading, puppy-dog eyes. Just sayin'...

Reply GroovyKinda, January 15th, 2014, 12:13 pm

@Delta-v: As far as sneaking goofy symbols into the comic, I think this qualifies as the best bacon strip of them all:

Reply Delta-v, January 15th, 2014, 1:43 pm

@GroovyKinda: Can't argue with that at all, and if Melaredblu WANTS to throw bacon I will be there with the rest of the pack, doing leaping backflips for my share, but only if.
