@melaredblu: If he had just stopped at: "...but she has no control!" he might've gotten out of this mess.
But noooo.

The wings on Leopold's natural bishonen form are impressive. Speaking from experience I know how hard wings are to draw, especially on a recurring comic character. Here they have a great sense of mass, and more importantly character (since they're framed in the first panel as looming over Brunswick).

@GroovyKinda: I sort of tossed him the Idiot Ball there, but then again, his time with June seems to confirm that he still hasn't learned to just keep his mouth shut.

@NitztheBloody: His wings are a NIGHTMARE to draw, but he'd look naked without them. I made his wings flare out here based on how birds ruffle their feathers when they get agitated. Glad the effect worked!

I really like the way Leopold describes a position that only he can fill. That was the perfect blend of cringe-inducing "shut up you fool", "Hahahaha!", and "Well, yeah, how else would the story develop in the way it has?" Kudos.

@Delta-v: I'm pretty sure a parody is the only place where anyone could get away with this obvious of a setup. The original draft was a bit more...subtle, but I figured this would be just funny enough to be acceptable.

@melaredblu: Yup, yup, yup. The ham-handed setup definitely worked here. And I got a real kick out of your "bad word". Much more creative than than the random keystrokes now in vogue.

Geez, Leopold. Some decorum, please! He's definitely walking into this one, and the snark siblings know it. And that that first panel, by the way. Exquisite.

Dang! I somehow posted as Guest. I have no idea how that happened.

@Hjels: I second that. The colors are beautiful. And the wings look awesome. It looks like you spent a long time getting them just right.
Am I the only one who saw Brunswick's hat and thought it looked like a chocolate covered cheesecake for a second?

Reply melaredblu, April 24th, 2014, 5:48 pm

@Hjels: Not so Zen on this page, is he?

Reply melaredblu, April 24th, 2014, 5:48 pm

@Delta-v: I figured it was you. And thanks, I thought the bad word thing would be funny. I'm not big on swearing myself, but it can be a good source of comedy.

@GroovyKinda: Cheesecake crown...oh man, I can't not see it now.

@melaredblu: It's that little curve of shine on the top.
And the cherry, of course.

Reply JDPftw, April 29th, 2014, 2:45 pm

It's funny how everyone is just ignoring Leopold and it looks like he doesn't even notice.

Reply melaredblu, April 29th, 2014, 8:45 pm

@JDPftw: He's in the zone. Unfortunately for him, Brunswick is, in fact, listening.
