Pictured above: One of the most painful appendages to rescue-grab someone by.

@melaredblu: Nicely done. I love your (almost) wordless pages.
Especially June's determined expression in 4.

Reply NitztheBloody, July 9th, 2014, 2:47 pm

All Bon Jovi references aside, this is a great moment for June, risking her life for Spiders despite his relative "uselessness"

Reply Delta-v, July 9th, 2014, 5:23 pm

YES! June didn't let her dislike of Leopold keep her from rescuing him. It's the first real crack I've seen in her self-centered shell. It gives me (possibly false) hope for her.

And, although it says bad things about me to see it so, Leopold's grimace of pain in panel 5 is hilarious.

Um, what part of May is June holding onto?

Reply melaredblu, July 9th, 2014, 5:47 pm

@GroovyKinda: I'm saving up my words for the more dialog-heavy pages later. Somebody's gonna have to explain what's going on sooner or later.

Reply melaredblu, July 9th, 2014, 5:47 pm

@NitztheBloody: I welcome all reference gags you have.

Reply melaredblu, July 9th, 2014, 5:49 pm

@Delta-v: May is miles away from June, especially with Randall and Sonny directly between them. She's not holding on to her or anyone, really.

Reply GroovyKinda, July 9th, 2014, 7:09 pm

@melaredblu: And what's with Sonny anyway? I always thought he was made of sterner stuff. I figured that he'd be wisecrackin' a way out of this.
Poor Leopold-if June lets go of her little bunny, it'll be hare today, gone tomorrow.
Or ear today, gone tomorrow...

Reply melaredblu, July 9th, 2014, 9:13 pm

@GroovyKinda: I figured careening through a web-infested void on a magical central vac with no seatbelts would scare even Sonny. Does his reaction seem out of character?

Reply Delta-v, July 9th, 2014, 9:59 pm

@melaredblu: Ah, my mistake. I thought Sonny's shirt was June's sleeve (different tone caused by different angle of lighting) from this misconception it looked to me like June had ahold of May's ear, too. When I changed the angle of my laptop screen, the image got clearer. It's not a tangent of any sort, just an old man's failing eyesight. I apologize.

I still like Leopold's expression in Panel 5.

Reply GroovyKinda, July 10th, 2014, 5:16 pm

@melaredblu: Sort of. I understand that he's in a scary situation. But when June went bananas on the banana, he was the one cheering her on
Plus, when Cordelia went ballistic, he was the smartaleck who stopped her.
Mind you, that's nothing compared to flying through spiderwebs on a runaway vacuum cleaner in a dark, formless void.

Reply melaredblu, July 10th, 2014, 6:08 pm

@Delta-v: I can kinda see it now that you mention it, though. It's hard to frame these shots with so many people crammed together.

Reply melaredblu, July 10th, 2014, 6:11 pm

@GroovyKinda: Sonny's unintimidated by Cordelia and he's not even remotely afraid of June, but the threat of falling to his death might scare him. That being said, this does give me some dialog ideas for an imminent page.

@melaredblu: It also has something to do with my problems with contrast, especially when I have my laptop screen at the wrong angle. There's nothing wrong with your layout or execution, especially when the viewing angle is foreshortened on more than one axis. I was just too eager to comment, and didn't examine the panel closely enough.

Have to admit, I groaned when I read the title :P

Besides that, Spiders' expressions are really well done! It made me cringe that she's holding on to his ear.

Reply Hjels, July 11th, 2014, 12:48 am

So undignified, but any port in a storm, right? I'm just glad she took action. She's pretty unconcerned with his safety at the best of times, but she's seen really out of sorts since the whole collapse of reality and whatnot.

Reply GroovyKinda, July 11th, 2014, 2:36 am

@Hjels: I know. It's almost like she's-wait for it-growing up.

Reply melaredblu, July 11th, 2014, 4:39 pm

@JDPftw: I can't guarantee I won't come up with even worse title in the future or that there will be less ear-pulling.

Reply GroovyKinda, July 12th, 2014, 1:25 pm

@melaredblu: We eagerly earwait hareing your latest title.
