On behalf of arachnophobes everywhere, I would like to extend a heartfelt apology for this page. I'd like to, but I'm too busy trying to brush all the imaginary webs off my face. I can't get them off! I CAN'T GET THEM OFF!

I will never draw spiderlings again for as long as I live.

Yoiks! @melaredblu: I'm not ascared of spiders, but that creeped me out. Nice job making them all shiny.
And nice to have our old Sonny back.

I don't like where this is going *shivers*

Both the spiders and webs look really cool. I'm guessing you're referencing actual spider webs and anatomy, which I think really helps in adding to the creepy vibe. (I don't envy you having to draw them in the background a lot though...)

Reply NitztheBloody, July 24th, 2014, 5:34 pm

Definitely see that you referenced real spiders, and it's definitely paid off. If I may be nerdier than usual, which particular spiders?

@GroovyKinda: What you had said about Sonny before got me thinking. I still figure he'd be terrified by that ride, but he'd also be the first one to laugh it off. This bit of dialog is essentially due to your feedback.

Reply melaredblu, July 24th, 2014, 8:25 pm

@JDPftw: Don't worry, it gets better. And by better, I mean worse.

Reply melaredblu, July 24th, 2014, 8:26 pm

@ErinfromDEGAF: I tried to make the spiders and their webs convincing. I'm glad to see I've succeeded.

Reply melaredblu, July 24th, 2014, 8:28 pm

@NitztheBloody: They're loosely based on black widow spiderlings. I don't recommend Googling that without good reason. So many pictures of nasty-looking spider bites I didn't need to ever see.

@melaredblu: Aw, thank you! I'm honored. Glad to be of service. You know how much I love Princess Chroma.
It's great that you're so open to looking at things in a fresh way, based on reader's comments.

@melaredblu: Your spiders are wonderfully horrible. And it's interesting that Sonny's looking for June while Randall is calling.....Ralph (Blurg)

Ah, dude. Finally saw that face in the back on the last panel! I think I picked it up subconsciously when I looked at this page earlier, because I've been seeing it out in my peripheral vision every now and then the last few days. This is The Excorsist all over again. :)

Page looks great, by the way. Best spiderlegs I've seen in a long time.

@GroovyKinda: Are you kidding? Reader comments make my day and I'm always happy to use whatever helpful advice I can get.

Reply melaredblu, July 29th, 2014, 12:10 am

@Delta-v: Poor 'lil guy got airsick. Let's all laugh at his pain.

Reply melaredblu, July 29th, 2014, 12:10 am

@Hjels: That's funny, I don't remember drawing a face there. Fancy that.

Reply Hjels, July 29th, 2014, 12:38 am

@melaredblu: No, that's not funny! That's not funny at all!

Reply melaredblu, July 29th, 2014, 1:10 am

@Hjels: Apologies for my messed-up sense of humor. But I am glad you noticed that little Easter Egg. I wasn't sure if anybody would.

Reply Hjels, July 29th, 2014, 4:38 am

@melaredblu: I'm joking. I'm just trying to limit my over-use of smilies. It was a really good touch at any rate.

Reply GroovyKinda, July 29th, 2014, 5:55 pm

@melaredblu: Sonny looks like he's trying to keep his spirits up as much as everyone else's.
And the face is really sweet.
