You'd better make good on that promise, Sonny.

@melaredblu: Wow. Did the pitcher powder have a little "grow up" powder mixed in?
Good for you, Sonny!
Love the Grumpy Rooster hat. Must be a Sulky.

Reply JDPftw, September 3rd, 2014, 6:25 pm

@GroovyKinda: I don't know if it's that Sonny grew up, or that he's rubbing it in Cordelia's face.

Reply melaredblu, September 3rd, 2014, 7:58 pm

@JDPftw and @GroovyKinda: You're both kinda right. Sonny doesn't have anything against May and he really didn't want her to get caught in the crossfire, but he's not about to say sorry to Cordelia anytime soon.

Oh, those puppy-dog eyes...

Reply melaredblu, September 4th, 2014, 2:40 am

@NitztheBloody: Who can say no to that face?

Reply ErinfromDEGAF, September 4th, 2014, 11:23 am

Damn it, where'd April go? I think some heads need to be smacked together again.

Reply melaredblu, September 5th, 2014, 1:28 am

@ErinfromDEGAF: To be fair, Cordelia handled this tiff considerably better. Maybe April really did get through to her.

Reply Delta-v, September 5th, 2014, 6:29 pm

A clarification, please--is Cordelia's pose in panel 6 the result of a running push, or the beginning of the delivery of kinetic force from swiftly moving foot to un-moving posterior? Also, May seems quite pleased by some part of the interaction.

Reply melaredblu, September 5th, 2014, 8:00 pm

@Delta-v: It's sort of a running push, but...I guess the pose is kinda static, isn't it? Oops. I'll try harder next time.

Reply Delta-v, September 6th, 2014, 12:33 pm

@melaredblu: I wasn't pointing out a flaw, I was hoping for a kick. You're obviously a nicer person than I am.

I just noticed a prophecy in your very first Artist's Comment on the very first (cover) page of the whole comic. And it has come true, in a massive way. I've been skipping right past it for months, but I suddenly noticed it and realized it's significance--very impressive.

Reply GroovyKinda, September 6th, 2014, 2:46 pm

@melaredblu: It does look like she's gonna plant a boot on his posterior.
Having her downstage (I think in theatrical terms) leg angled back would've given a stronger forward thrust to the picture.
Who cares-May is so wonderful! I love her!

Reply melaredblu, September 6th, 2014, 8:02 pm

@Delta-v: In retrospect, a kick would have been funnier.
This is usually the part when I blush and scuff the floor at any an all praise, but the honest truth is I like to compare my old pages to the new ones to see how much better I've gotten. It helps keep me from getting discouraged with where I'm at now. Improvement has always been the name of the game.

Reply melaredblu, September 6th, 2014, 8:04 pm

@GroovyKinda: That's a good suggestion. I'll keep that in mind if I ever do a similar pose.

I kind of feel bad giving May a hard time. She doesn't deserve it, so the least I can do is make her happy somehow.

Reply Delta-v, September 7th, 2014, 4:51 pm

@melaredblu: I can see a marked difference much more recently than that, and I think your're doing really well right now. So what if you don't draw like Rembrandt van Rijn (yet). HE never made a webcomic as good as yours.

Reply Hjels, September 8th, 2014, 5:33 pm

Ah, man. May as a dog has the saddest eyes! Cordelia may *occasionally* have something like this coming, but not May. At least she seems happy on the final panel. :)

Reply melaredblu, September 8th, 2014, 9:52 pm

@Delta-v: Saying my webcomic is better than Rembrandt's is kind of like saying I've got a nicer hairdo than your average earthworm, but hey, I'll take it.

Reply melaredblu, September 8th, 2014, 9:54 pm

@Hjels: I'm glad May's happy tail-wagging came through in that panel, because I had a feeling her sadface wouldn't go over too well otherwise.
